Cities are sites
of great socio-ecological neglect,
where interactions of spaces and species
are narrated as something bereft.
And yet, the question still remains:
O', what has this city given to us?
Merely the rising mountains of garbage?
In flowing rivers—only effluents that rush?
Is there any true color left
that still sculpts the city?
Indeed
not just one,
but many.
Rediscovering Urban Nature

We envision cities where ecology is not an afterthought but a lived reality—where biodiversity is valued, protected, and woven into everyday life. Through education, storytelling, and field engagement, we seek to reconnect people with the natural world around them. Our work challenges the view of urban green spaces as ecologically barren or merely neutral, instead affirming their existence and critically engaging with the politics that shape them.

We believe every city dweller deserves access to green spaces and a healthy urban environment. But who is a city dweller? This question lies at the heart of Urban Nature Matters. Through our work, we explore this often-overlooked stakeholdership and their relationships with urban nature.

When we look at cities, we resist the biased view that urban areas lack ecological value. We remain mindful of our tendency to separate humans from nature, questioning this divide as we explore the ecologies of the urban landscape.
